Marumo Gallants have confirmed they will not renew Dan Malesela’s contract after the coach earlier on Friday revealed to iDiski Times he hadn’t held any talks with the club over an extension.
Malesela has received widespread praise for his role at Gallants this season with an enterprising style of play which saw them retain their top-flight status and lead them to the Nedbank Cup final.
Despite losing to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium last month in the domestic cup competition it secured the club a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup final.
However, Gallants have now confirmed the exit of the the former TS Galaxy boss and they are now in the process of seeking his successor.
Earlier on Friday, Malesela had told this publication: “I’m still with Marumo for now,” he told iDiski Times. “My contract is expiring in June at the end of this month and I haven’t had talks with the club yet.”
Since taking over the helm at the Limpopo-based outfit in December he’s overseen nine wins, 10 draws and six defeats in 25 games across all competitions.
