Former Orlando Pirates and Zambia head coach Milutin Sredojević has penned a heartfelt message after the sudden passing of Justin Shonga.

Shonga, who was playing in Saudi Arabia last season, was brought to the Pirates from Nkwazi FC and formed an integral part of the squad during Micho’s time.

With 16 goals and 16 assists in 77 games, Shonga went on to represent the likes of TTM, Cape Town City, Ismaily, Sekhukhune United, FC Gagra before his move to Narjan in the Gulf.

On Sunday evening, the Zambian Football Association (FAZ) confirmed the shocking news that Shonga had passed on after a short illness at the age of 27.

“Dear Justin, in the name of us that had the privilege to have [coached] you in Orlando Pirates and Zambia, we express sincere gratitude and honest appreciation for each moment we have spent together garnished with unforgettable memories. May your soul rest in peace as we regret your too early departure,” Micho wrote on social media.
