Latest Update On Erasmus After Pirates Exit

Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Kermit Erasmus is keen on a local move despite receiving interest from abroad.

Erasmus recently left Pirates after two seasons in his second stint at Orlando Stadium.

The 33-year-old rejoined the Sea Robbers in September 2022 after leaving Sundowns following two years at Chloorkop that saw him win two league titles and one MTN8 trophy.

The former Cape Town City striker had a good 2022/23 and 2023/24 season with Bucs, winning four trophies, two Nedbank Cups, and two MTN8.

The former Bafana forward made 35 appearances in the black and white, and contributed 10 goals, but his game-time dropped in the second season with Bucs, as he only featured in 11 matches in 2023/24.

Information received by iDiski Times states that Erasmus’ camp received enquiries from Australia, Asia and the PSL but at this stage, the striker is keen on remaining in the Premier Soccer League.

Erasmus played in Europe from an early age, featuring for the likes of French Ligue 1 sides RC Lens and Stade Rennais, as well as Dutch giants Feyenoord and for Vitoria Setubal in Portugal.
