Experienced Ernst Middendorp was left unimpressed with the decision from the lineman after he pointed a penalty in the Cape derby.
Spurs was closer to win their first ever derby since returning to the top flight but they were denied by Iqraam Rayners spot kick. Middendorp feels like the lineman worked hard for it.
The former Kaizer Chiefs head coach was pleased by the point against high flying Stellies who hasn’t lost a league match since their last loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in September.
“We are very satisfied with picking up a point here against a team obviously on position two after the other results went to the advantage Stellenbosch.” Middendorp told the media.
“Overall I think we have to in the circumstances, we played Sunday, Orlando Pirates played Saturday. We played Wednesday, Stellenbosch played Tuesday. Between both games we had two days just two days before Pirates and now before Stellenbosch. I don’t know if we being tested, we took it we didn’t talk about it too much but know you have a number of players who more than necessary to play their first six or seven PSL season as first eleven players then you know.
“We had unbelievable movements on our wingbacks Kamagi on the left and KG on the right of course you cannot expect that with three times, they didn’t it in a fantastic way on Sunday, they did it in a more fantastic way on Wednesday but I was sure about it that we have to pay the price for it today.
We had a leading I don’t know the penalty probably is possible but the lineman worked hard for it. We question him too much on our side before, there was a little bit of unhappiness involved.
