Milford FC moved to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table after Casric Stars dropped points against Baroka FC, Upington City continued with their good run.
Friday nights seem like a problem for Cape Town Spurs as they suffered their second consecutive defeat, going down 2-0 to Leruma United away from home. Goals on either side of the half, from Gabonese winger Yannick Angoume and the second from Keletso Mashiane was enough to hand United their second win of the season.
At Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium on Saturday, Upington City welcomed struggling Venda FC. It took six minutes for Bafana Ba Gucci to take the lead courtesy of Trevor Mokwana and that was enough for all three points. This is City’s fourth win in six matches. Meanwhile, Venda FC find themselves rooted at the bottom with only one point after six matches.
Mandla Qhogi’s Milford FC are on fire as they’ve registered their fourth win in six matches beating newcomers Highbury FC by 2-1. Milford are yet to lose a match this season. Eastern Cape-based Highbury’s struggles continue to grow ahead of the FIFA break as they’ve only managed to collect two points in the last six matches and sit second from bottom.
There were no goals on Sunday, as Baroka shared the spoils with Casric Stars and Pretoria Callies played a goalless draw against Durban City.
