Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has revealed what he told Mduduzi Shabalala ahead of his trial with Belgian side KVC Westerlo.
Amakhosi announced last week that Shabalala and Bontle Molefe were off to trials in Belgium in the coming weeks.
While Shabalala will have a two-week trial with Westerlo – Lyle Foster’s side, which has been promoted to the Jupiler Pro League, Molefe will have a four-week sting at Royal Antwerp.
Ngcobo, who himself is only 22, has now revealed that he encouraged his fellow teammate ahead of his trials.
“I think it really is a great thing,” he told reporters.
“I had a chat with him [Shabalala] yesterday and I told him he must go there and do his best.
“I told him before that he has so much potential and he can do it.
“So I’m very happy and seeing that our development is producing so talented players, I’m very proud and I’m looking forward to seeing more players going abroad.
“It’s really a good thing for the team and for them.”
Ngcobo himself returns to action with the first team on Saturday, when the Glamour Boys will host SuperSport United at the FNB Stadium at 19:30.
