SuperSport United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu says he’s not bothered to see Thalente Mbatha join Orlando Pirates.
Ndlovu, 27, has revived his career at SuperSport after becoming a bit-part player in his final season at the club.
He initially joined on loan before the deal was made permanent at the start of this season, but Mbatha, who was behind Ndlovu and his partner Grant Margeman, surprisingly secured a January loan switch to Pirates, where he’s now featured five times under Jose Riveiro.
“Not really [I don’t think about it], everyone has his journey, for me – it was my journey to go like that [at Pirates], it was a matter of me having to gain knowledge, to strengthen myself for this club,” Ndlovu said.
“Since I’ve got here, I’ve grown a lot – for sure off the field as well.”
Ndlovu went on to express his delight at Margeman returning to the national team set-up, which he agreed offers a source of inspiration to keep working hard.
“I’m very happy for my [midfield] partner to be in the national team, he’s played many games, more than I did, I’m very happy for him,” he said about Margeman.
“This is why we’re partners, we support each other, we help each other when I’m there, he goes forward when I don’t – I sit for him which gives him back up. I’m very happy for him, he’s a great player.”
