Bafana Bafana young star Mohau Nkota impressed this weekend in the Saudi Pro League with Lyle Foster leading the line for Burnley as they fell to Liverpool.
In a 0-0 draw against Al Ahli SC in the Saudi Pro League, Al Ettifaq coach Saad Al-Shehri was full of praise for Nkota’s performance. The coach highlighted the young player’s great impact on the game, explaining that it was particularly impressive given his fatigue from a long midweek journey after playing for Bafana Bafana in South Africa.
“Nkota arrived yesterday from his country after traveling, so he was not physically ready to play 90 full minutes, yet he made the difference, especially with the bench entering the second half, and so was the case with the Calvo arrived yesterday,” said Al-Shehri as per the club’s X.
In the same league, Al Hazem winger Elias Mokwana played 27 minutes in their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Al Shabab.
In the English Premier League, Lyle Foster played 86 minutes for Burnley in their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, but his efforts were not enough to secure a positive result for his team.
Also in England, Luke Le Roux came on in the 76th minute in the second half as his side Portsmouth suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the English Championship.
Ime Okon played the entire 90 minutes when his side 96 Hannover were thumped 3-0 at home by Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga 2.
In Romania, Siyabonga Ngezana, usually a regular starter for FCSB, was an unused substitute in their 1-1 stalemate against Csikszereda M. Ciuc.
Meanwhile, striker Bongokuhle Hlongwane‘s goal-less streak reached six games despite his team, Minnesota United, winning 3-0 against San Diego FC in the USA MLS. Elsewhere in the same league, Olwethu Makhanya missed his team Philadelphia’s 7-0 thrashing, serving a suspension for a red card he received in the last game.
And in Austria, Yusuf Maart was on the field the whole 90 minutes when his side Ried lost 2-0 in the league. Meanwhile, his South African teammate Antonio van Wyk was not in the team.
