Following his underwhelming stay at Orlando Pirates, Cameroon striker Souaibou Marou has joined Bahraini outfit Al Shabab on a one-year deal, with an option to extend for a further year.
Marou, 23, joined the Buccaneers in January 2023 from Coton Sport FC in his native Cameroon after a Golden Boot-winning campaign in Ligue 1 but found the tough going upon his arrival in South Africa, making just nine appearances across all competitions without providing any goals or assists.

Initially thought to be a major coup for Pirates, Marou fell behind the pecking order at the Mayfair outfit with head coach Jose Riveiro preferring the likes of Evidence Makgopa and Zakhele Lephasa to lead his attacking line.
Marou’s move to the Middle East comes just two months after he terminated his contract with Pirates, which still had a year to run, bringing a frustrating end to his spell at the club.
The Cameroon international’s signing was confirmed by the club via social media on Monday.
