Matlaba – What Makes Pitso’s Technical Team So Strong

Pitso Mosimane’s trusted analyst Musi Matlaba has explained what makes his technical team strong and successful.

Matlaba has worked alongside Mosimane since their days at Mamelodi Sundowns, and joined him during his forays with Al Ahly, Al Ahli Jeddah, Al Wahda and Abha Club in the Gulf.

Along with strength and conditioning coach, Kabelo Rangoaga, assistant coach Maahier Davids and opposition analyst Kyle Solomon, they have formed a close-knit bond.

“I think from the time of being at Sundowns we were already family, I mean after training we would sit two, three hours to just chat,” Matlaba tells iDiski Times.

“But when we went to Egypt it just brought us closes together, we were the only ones who could understand each other. We’re more than a technical team, we’re a family together, we go to each others’ family events.”

Matlaba also downplayed whether he’s been approached by other clubs of late, since they left Abha upon the expiry of the four-month contract before the relegation from the Saudi Pro League.

“Me personally? I don’t see myself working with anyone else, I think coach [Mosimane] has allowed me to be more than an analyst,” he stated when asked if other offers were tempting him.

“Coach allows me to work in a certain way, which he is very comfortable with, and I don’t think that would fit into other clubs, or how other people want to work.

“Myself, coach, KB and Kyle, and Maahier, we have a flow and rhythm working together, for me personally I can’t see myself working with anyone else. I follow coach, and wherever he goes, I go – I don’t know when that will be but I’m aligned to him.”
