DStv Premiership outfit Chippa United have confirmed the signing of former Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns midfield enforcer Andile Jali.
The ex-Orlando Pirates and Sundowns captain has been without a club since leaving the Dube Birds in December 2023 due to the club’s financial struggles.
Jali, 34, was released by Sundowns last season after close to six years at the Chloorkop-based outfit since returning from Europe, where he plied his trade for Belgian Pro League outfit KV Oostende between 2014 and 2018.
The Chilli Boys announced the signing of the former Bafana Bafana international on a one-year deal today, as the Matatiele Express returned back to his home province.
“Chippa United FC is delighted to announce the signing of the prominent, Andile Jali, for the upcoming season,” the club stated.
“Born in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape, Jali left the province to pursue a successful career in both international and domestic football.
“He is finally returning to his home province, bringing his wealth of experience and skills to strengthen our squad. Welcome Back To The Eastern Cape Mhlekazi!”
‘AJ15’ notched up 13 appearances for Swallows during the 2023/24 campaign, before his exit, for alleged outstanding payments by the club.
