Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has identified a major weakness that previously plagued the team that he feels they have improved on.
The French Moroccan tactician previously voiced out the concern about his team struggling to defend set pieces in the early stages of the season.
It was a recurring problem from the previous season as well, when Jose Riveiro was still in charge of the team.
Ouaddou says they have made a strong improvement when it comes to set pieces, saying they improved concentration, focus and how they protect their goal.
“It was one point we worked a lot on with my technical department,” said Ouaddou.
“The department was looking after the set pieces. It was a big concern for us, and we have done a lot of improvement.
“Thanks to the players about the attitude and concentration that we have in the structure.
“We have a lot of improvement and concentration now. Not only in our team, the most important thing in the set pieces is the attitude and concentration.
“A set piece is three seconds of focus, if you lose your focus on the opponent and the ball, the way you manage your body and the way you protect your goal.
“All those small details, we have improved them and it’s a good thing for us.”
