Orlando Pirates shared the spoils with recently relegated LALIGA side Granada, keeping their unbeaten run in the preseason.
Pirates started their third pre-season game against recently relegated Spanish side Granada on the back-foot.
Inside 10 minutes, Sipho Chaine made a good save after poor defending from Pirates, right after that Evidence Makgopa cleared the ball off the line to keep the score 0-0.
After a brilliant ball movement from the Soweto giants in the 19th minute, Patrick Maswanganyi found new signing Gilberto who slotted the ball to the far post to make it 1-0.
Two minutes later, Granada levelled matters through Shon Weismann after poor ball work from the Pirates defense.
Both sides looked for that important goal before the break, but they couldn’t get one as they go into the break 1-1.
The second half started with a lot of changes from the bench, and both sides looked more tired as the game progressed and under the massive heat in Spain.
The tempo of the game dropped a bit in the secomd stanza, but the Buccaneers had another massive chance through Tshegofatso Mabasa but his ball was cleared off the line and pushed against the inside of the post before Granada took control of it.
In the end, the game finished 1-1, making it three unbeaten games for the Sea Robbers in Spain. Pirates next face Qatari Stars League champions Al-Sadd on Friday.
