Playoffs Face Further Delay

The PSL promotion playoffs have been delayed once again, following a late arbitration sitting on Friday.

Initially scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 27 May, the playoffs were postponed due to the unresolved fixture between SuperSport United and Lamontville Golden Arrows, as well as an arbitration process that was yet to be concluded.

Following SuperSport’s 1-1 draw with Arrows on Thursday, it was confirmed that Cape Town City would take the final play-off spot, joining Casric Stars and ORBIT College in the three-team mini-league.

The arbitration hearing, which had been postponed earlier in the week, finally took place on Friday afternoon with Cape Town Spurs, Durban City, and JDR Stars all in attendance.

After hearing from all parties, the arbitrators announced that a final decision would only be made on Monday.

As a result, the playoffs have been pushed back further and will not begin this weekend. This means that teams like Casric Stars and ORBIT College will now head into a second consecutive weekend without any competitive football action.
