Orlando Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng praised his teammates for tiring Stellenbosch FC and making things easier for him in Saturday’s MTN8 final.
Just like he did in last season’s Nedbank Cup final, the ever-smiling Mofokeng came off the bench to net the winner late on as Pirates emerged 3-1 victors.

The Bafana Bafana international was introduced in the 62nd minute when the scoreline was locked at 1-1. And with extra-time looming, Mofokeng played a vital role in assisting the second goal as well as scoring the winner.
Speaking to the media at Moses Mabhida, he mentioned that his teammates did the work of tiring their opponents to make things a bit simpler for him to finish the match.
“It’s not that they trust more in the second half to make things happen, but I feel like when I come in, I work for the team just like the guys who started the game,” Mofokeng said after their historic three-peat.
“We all worked hard for the team. The players that started are the ones that tired Stellenbosch out for me to come in when things are already simpler. When I come in from the bench I work too it’s not like I’m trusted more when I come from the bench because I also start games, I score and assist.
“Whether you start or you are on the bench, you must always be ready. Thanks to my teammates for also helping me, even Tshego [Mabasa] he was the one who passed to me so that I could score.”
