SSU Tie Down Johannes

SuperSport United has extended the stay of defender Kegan Johannes for another two years after spending four years in the capital city.

Johannes joined United in 2021 after he left Ajax Cape Town, now Cape Town Spurs, on a free transfer. The 23-year-old never looked back as he made over 60 appearances, scoring four goals. He also featured in the CAF Confederation Cup for Matsatsantsa this season.

The former Spurs defender has three caps for South Africa under 23, he represented the nation in the 2019 AFCON U23 where he played against Zambia, Ivory Coast, and Ghana in the third place in the tournament.

iDiskiTimes understands that SuperSport exercised a two-year option on Johannes which will keep him in the capital city until 2026.

Speculation on Johannes’ future had been growing with reported interest from several clubs.

After exiting the Nedbank Cup on Saturday, SuperSport face Polokwane City on Wednesday, as they look to improve on their current sixth position in the DStv Premiership.
