Vilakazi Closes In On PSL Return

Mike Makaab, the agent of former Richards Bay head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi, has confirmed that his client is close to securing a new job, with three teams already lining up for his services.

‘Kanu’ recently parted ways with the Natal Rich Boyz having helped them survive relegation via the PSL/Promotional playoffs after finishing 15th in the Betway Premiership in 2023/24.

After his fantastic work, he was rewarded with a new contract by the club ahead of the 2024/25 season but opted to end his stay at the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit in the middle of pre-season after an alleged fallout with management.

Vilakazi’s representative, Mike Makaab, mentioned that there’s already interest in Kanu and they are likely to close the deal before the end of this week, with the primary focus being looking at a club where he will add value and grow himself.

“There’s been an interest in Vusimuzi Vilakazi,” Makaab told iDiski Times.

“Three teams are interested in him. I can’t mention them yet. Obviously, we are looking at the club where he will add value.

“We will make a decision before the end of this week,” Makaab added.

It’s unclear at this stage if the former Chippa United and Golden Arrows mentor will stay in topflight football or drop a division down.
