Polokwane Clear The Air On Kambala Saga

Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe has clarified the bizarre transfer incident of midfielder Manuel Kambala.

The 32-year-old was unveiled as a new player in his homeland with UD Songo in the off-season alongside Luis Miquissone.

But the player was spotted during pre-season in South Africa and went on to start their first game of the season in the MTN8 against Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Kambala, yes he was unveiled [at another club]. I saw it in the media, they said he was at another team in Mozambique,” Mohafe said when asked by iDiski Times.

“But he has a contract with Polokwane City and that is why I think you still see him at Polokwane City.”

He featured 101 minutes as Sundowns edged Rise and Shine 1-0 in extra-time to book their place in the semi-final against Stellenbosch.
