Zwane Makes Honest Assessment Of His Own Performances

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Samkelo Zwane admits that they haven’t had a run of consistency despite a promising start to the campaign, while adding that he has let himself down.

The 23-year-old hard-tackling midfielder was a regular in head coach Nasreddine Nabi’s team when the 2024/25 term got underway racking up 11 appearances with a single assist but has since fallen down the pecking order behind the likes of Yusuf Maart and Thabo Cele in the Chiefs engine room.

Speaking to iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in edition 199 of the newspaper, the Amakhosi youth graduate is disappointed that he was not able to contribute to the team as well as playing to his full potential.

“I think it’s very clear that we haven’t been consistent and we started the season very well. We were scoring goals and mistakes like I said,” Zwane told iDiski Times.

“Honest assessment of myself, I honestly feel like I could have done better. I could have helped the team win more in more aspects and showing how much I can do.

“I feel like I haven’t really shown how much I can do.”
