City Beats Wydad, Lorch Impresses

Manchester City beat Wydad Athletic Club 2-0 on Wednesday evening, but Thembinkosi Lorch impressed for the Moroccan giants.

The Premier League giants were early on the score board thanks to Phil Foden who opened the scoring after just two minutes.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Doku scored City’s second just before the break. The Citizens could’ve scored more after creating five big chances, but didn’t add another to their tally.

However, Lorch impressed for the Moroccan side, testing Ederson with a superb long-range shot from his own half.

Nyoso was a constant threat down the left flank, winning all three of his dribbles and setting up Cassius Mailula for Wydad’s only big chance – though Ederson was again on point.

Lorch received the best Sofascore rating in his team, with 7.6, which was the second-highest rating on the day behind Phil Foden with 8.7.

Wydad next face Juventus in Group G, while City will continue their Club World Cup journey against Al Ain.
