The quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup have been confirmed after Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund booked their tickets.
Los Blancos beat Juventus 1-0 thanks to a goal by youngster Gonzalo García. Meanwhile, Dortmund was carried by Serhou Guirassy, who netted a brace in their 2-1 win over Monterrey.
Earlier, Al Hilal and Fluminense had caused upsets after knocking out Manchester City and Inter, respectively.
Al Hilal had beaten City 4-3 after extra-time to send the Premier League giants packing, while Fluminense beat Inter 2-0.
Bayern Munich beat Flamengo 4-2 and Paris Saint-Germain thumped Inter Miami 4-0, and earlier Palmeiras had knocked out Botafogo 1-0 after extra-time while Chelsea beat Benfica 4-1 after extra-time.
In the quarter-finals, Fluminense, who advanced as second from Mamelodi Sundowns’ group, will face Al Hilal, while Palmeiras will meet Chelsea.
Paris Saint-Germain will battle Bayern in a highly-anticipated clash, and Real will meet BVB.
