Al Wehda lost 7-1 to Al Ittihad, with former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema netting a hat-trick.
Ittihad’s team is filled with former stars from Europe’s top leagues, and they had a day to remember.
Benzema opened the scoring after just two minutes, assisted by Steven Bergwijn. Houssam Aouar made it 2-0 after just 13 minutes, with Moussa Diaby collecting his first assist.
When Youssef Amyn pulled one back for Zinnbauer’s side in the 31st minute it looked like a respectable result, potentially even a draw was possible.
However, former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho restored Al Ittihad’s two-goal lead in injury-time of the first half, with Diaby collecting his second assist.
The hosts then ran riot in the second interval, with Benzema completing his brace in the 46th minute, assisted by Bergwijn.
Fawaz Al-Sagour scored his side’s fifth, assisted by Diaby after 55 minutes, with Saleh Al-Shehri making it 6-1 in the 87th, when Diaby set up his fourth goal of the match before Benzema completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute.
It was Zinnbauer’s first defeat with Al Wehda, and they currently sit on four points after three matches, while Al Ittihad climbed to the top of the log with nine points.
