Baxter Sacked In India

Former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has been sacked by Odisha FC in India, after making offensive comments in a post match presser after a 1-0 loss to Jamshedpur.

Baxter made headlines on Monday, after saying, “I think one of my players would have to rape someone or get raped himself if he was going to get a penalty.”

The club and owner apologised on social media after the comments, but took the step to dismiss Baxter today.

His comments however are only half the story, as Odisha are also currently bottom of the log, and it has been a poor season for Baxter and the team, who have just one game all season, losing eight, and drawing five.

Baxter, who also once coached at SuperSport United, joined Odisha in the middle of 2020, and also recruited Cole Alexander to join the team.
