Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Edson Castillo earned his 10th cap for Venezuela, coming on in the 93rd minute as they held world champions Argentina to a 1-1 draw in the CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Estadio Monumental on Thursday.
The match had earlier been suspended due to a waterlogged pitch, and pushed back by 30 minutes, as groundstaff struggled to clear the standing water on the pitch, before officials gave a greenlight for the match to commence.

He missed the Copa America and the two FIFA World Cup qualifiers after his form dropped at Chiefs before a new lease of life under Moroccan mentor Nasreddine Nabi saw him regain his confidence once again with impressive displays, most notably in their 2-1 Betway Premiership defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Lionel Scaloni’s charges opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Nicolas Otamendi after Lionel Messi curled in a cross from the left which then landed kindly in Otamendi’s path who poked the ball home from goalkeeper Rafa Romo’s failed clearance.
Venezuela levelled matters later on in the match with Salomon Rondon’s fine header at the near post in the 65th minute past Rulli in the Argentina goal as they held out for a well-deserved point.
Fernando Batista and his charges have another tough task when they travel away to Paraguay on Tuesday, 15 October.
