Former Ajax Cape Town Coach Joins Scottish Giants

Former Ajax Cape Town (Cape Town Spurs) head coach Andries Ulderink has joined the technical team of Scottish giants Rangers.

Ulderink will form part of  Philippe Clement’s technical staff for the 2024/25 campaign.

Ulderink joined the Urban Warriors in November 2018 succeeding Muhsin Ertugral after their relegation from the DStv Premiership, and at one point looked to be steering them back to the top flight.

Although he had already announced he would leave at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, he resigned in January 2020 following the internal suspension of then-technical director Hans Vonk.

At the time Ajax were top of the table, but after the Covid-19 disruption missed out on promotion.

The 54-year-old former De Graafschap and Go Ahead Eagles manager went on to be an assistant at FC Twente and Royal Antwerp after he left South Africa.
