Musona Told To Look For New Club
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona has reportedly been told to look for a new club in the coming transfer window.
The 30-year-old signed for Anderlecht in 2019 but has since only made 10 appearances for the club.
He was twice been loaned out, first to KSC Lokeren and then to KAS Eupen for the last one-and-a-half seasons, scoring seven goals in 24 appearances in 2020/21.
However, Eupen’s general director Christoph Henkel confirmed that Musona and Eupen’s other loanees will return to their parent clubs due to financial limitations.
“We will certainly also have to expect departures for economic reasons. The players, who were here on loan and at the end of the contract will leave,” he said, as per Belgian newspaper La Meuse.
But, according Voetbal24, Anderlecht want to get rid of the former Amakhosi striker, who is reported to earn $1 million (R13.8 million) per year and still has a contract until the end of June 2022.
It is understood that Anderlecht, who are coached by former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany, have told Musona and several other players to look for new clubs.
‘The Smiling Assassin’ is still very well-remembered at Naturena after scoring 40 goals in 88 appearances in two stints for the club in the early days of his career.
