New reports suggest that the CAF Super Cup will be hosted in Qatar as originally planned.
The African governing body had suggested the match between Egypt’s Al Ahly and Morocco’s RS Berkane could be played in Cairo, but reports now suggest the match will be played in the originally scheduled location.
The Moroccan club had protested against the move to Cairo, as it would have favoured Pitso Mosimane’s Egyptian club.
The match will however only be played in 2021, with CAF yet to confirm an official date, however it is expected to be played in the first quarter of the year.
RS Berkane beat Egypt’s Pyramids FC in the final of the CAF Confederations Cup, while Al Ahly beat Zamalek in the CAF Champions League final.
