Mamelodi Sundowns hammered SAFA Cape Town 3-1 in their opening game of the Bayhill Premier Cup U19 competition in Cape Town.
The second day of the Bayhill Premier Cup U19 saw 30 teams involved, with 15 games played. AmaTuks started the tournament like a house on fire beating Hungry Lions. Meanwhile hosts Bayhill United held Antalyaspor in a four goal thriller.
The Eastern Cape-based side Chippa United were humbled by last year’s finalists Randburg FC by a narrow 1-0. Stellenbosch FC overcame Virginia in a tight contest. The highest goalscoring game saw Jomo’s Power FC beating Two For Joy by 5-1.
Defending champions Ubuntu managed to beat the KwaZulu-Natal-based side Shayamoya Academy, while Cape Town City and Vasco Da Gama played to a goalless draw.
Group games continue on Friday, before wrapping up on Saturday morning before the knockout stages.
