Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi has warned TS Galaxy that they must not rely on history in their upcoming DStv Premiership clash.
The Amakhosi come into the game wounded after a heavy defeat against Orlando Pirates at the weekend, while Galaxy will also retain confidence, knowing that they famously ousted the Glamour Boys in the Nedbank Cup final two seasons ago.
However, the Chiefs shot-stopper believes that although Galaxy will be prepared, they shouldn’t rely on history.
“They might still have that momentum in them, believing what they played against us in the cup game last time.
“But football is not about history, football is about now. I’m very sure they are going to be well prepared for us, and also considering what happened on the weekend (against Orlando Pirates).
“But we’ve learned from our mistakes, and we are coming out stronger, so we hope to face Galaxy at 120 percent.”
