Golden Arrows are seemingly following the same route as Cape Town City ahead of their scheduled fixture against Kaizer Chiefs.
Arrows are due to face Chiefs on Wednesday evening at the Princess Magogo Stadium in the wake of their opposition appealing for fixture postponements to the Premier Soccer League.
Amakhosi stated last Friday that they were unable to honour their weekend fixture against City at the FNB Stadium which saw the Citizens and the match commissions travel to Soweto – where the stadium gates were found locked.
City chairman John Comitis did confirm that the PSL did respond to Chiefs in writing that their request to postpone games was not granted.
The Citizens maintained they were simply adhering to standard protocol having not been informed of any fixture postponement from the PSL – who have remained silent throughout – over the Amakhosi dilemma.
But Arrows look poised to follow the City lead, provided no major update is given, as they continue to advertise their mid-week tie on social media.
In the event that the PSL maintain the precedent of walkover results for teams not honouring a fixture due to Covid-19 related cases – Chiefs and perhaps Arrows will be awarded three points for following their league protocols.
