Baccus On Increased Game-Time Under Baxter

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Kearyn Baccus says he’s happy with his increased game-time of late and the mood in the camp is good ahead of Saturday’s DStv Premiership match against Golden Arrows.

Chiefs host Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening, looking to improve on their current third position on the log. The Amakhosi are currently 16 points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, but with four games in hand.

Stuart Baxter’s men were last in action on 5 March when they beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the Soweto Derby.

Baccus, who has only made six appearances in the league this season, says training has been good, and he is happy to be getting some time on the field recently.

“You know, training’s been good,” Baccus told the club’s media department.

“We as a group have been enjoying ourselves, now that we’re winning games things have been good, which is good and been a lot easier.

“At the moment I’m just happy I’m getting a bit of minutes underneath my belt.

“I’m happy to help the boys when need be. Yeah I’m here for the team and I just want to help them as much as possible and I’m grateful for for the opportunity I’m getting.”

Baccus says they’re looking to finish the season strong and get as close to Sundowns as possible.

“We’re fighting, we’re gonna fight all the way till the end,” he added”.

“Hopefully we can get there or there abouts in these last 10 games or so. Yeah, we just looking forward to it and can’t wait to finish the league strong. Yeah, Arrows is a good team.

“Just like every every team in the league. Every game has different elements, so we’re going to have to be very disciplined and play well against Arrows and hopefully we can get a result.”
