Al Ahly forward Percy Tau is recovering well from his quadriceps muscle injury and should be fully fit for Bafana Bafana when they face France and Zambia, iDiski Times has learnt.
Tau, 27, suffered the injury a week prior to the FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates – a tournament head coach Pitso Mosimane specifically roped him in to compete in.
With a four-week timeline set for his recovery, this publication can confirm the process has been going to plan as Tau continues to train separately from the first-team squad in Abu Dhabi.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion player – should there be no isolated setbacks – should be fully fit for the South Africa national team in the next FIFA International break in March.
Bafana are set to face Zambia and current world Champions France as Hugo Broos looks to prepare the squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Tau has directly contributed to six goals (five goals and one assist) in his first eight games for the club since his €1.80-million transfer from the Seagulls.
