Brooks – I’ve Learned A Lot From ODG

TS Galaxy and Bafana Bafana midfielder Ethan Brooks says he is grateful to former coach Owen Da Gama for giving him his opportunity to play in the DStv Premiership.

Da Gama was relieved of his duties at Galaxy at the start of the week, following a run of five games this season without a win.

Shaun Bartlett, who was Da Gama’s assistant was announced as interim coach before the club confirmed the appointment of Sead Ramovic on Friday.

Brooks says it’s sad to see the coach who gave him his chance at the club leave, and he is grateful for all the lessons he has learnt.

“I mean, he did give me an opportunity to start my career in the DStv Premiership,” Brooks told the club’s media department

“So it really is sad to see him leave. But you know, I’ve learned a lot from him.”

Brooks says, though, he is looking forward to work with Bartlett, and says that while he is bringing new methods, they are familiar with him, which makes it easier.

“Ja, no, he’s very, no big on having a lot of football knowledge,” Brooks continued in quotes that came out before Ramovic was confirmed as new coach.

“So that’s what I’m learning from him now as a coach.

“So that’s very important for me and everyone else. “So he is bringing in new methods, but ja, we’ve been with him so, ja.”
