City Snap Up Another Keeper

Twenty-four hours after confirming the signing of Darren Keet, Cape Town City have announced the signing of another goalkeeper.

The club announced the addition of Bongani Mpandle on Tuesday, who joins the club as a free agent after leaving Maritzburg United at the end of last month.

City’s number one goalkeeper for the past three seasons, Peter Leeuwenburgh, returned to Holland at the end of 2020/21, and City have wasted no time in bolstering up the position.

Mpandle, who played for Bloemfontein Celtic before joining the Team of Choice, will re-unite with Eric Tinkler.

The 28-year-old spent five seasons at the Kwazulu-Natal club, mostly as a backup, and featured in 18 leagues for the club.
