Downs Remain Top Despite Draw

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and JVW Girls maintained in top and second position on the Hollywoodbets Super League table as they shared spoils in a top-of-the-table clash in Tsakane.

This is the first time the defending champions dropped points this season and they now have 19 points from seven outings, while the second-placed newcomers have amassed 16 points from the same number of games.

In Giyani, MaIndies Ladies’ good run was stopped in the tracks as Bloemfontein Celtic scored a late winner in a five goal thriller to win 3-2. Celtic are now fifth with 13 points while the Limpopo side are eighth with eight points. 

Durban Ladies are yet to catch a break as they were handed their seventh loss of the campaign, a 3-2 defeat by Tsunami Queens. The result saw Durban Ladies remain at the bottom of the log with no point while Tsunami are 11th with seven points.

12th placed Golden Ladies lost 1-0 to Richmond United who are in seventh with 10 points. Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) thrashed Coal City Wizards 3-0 in Witbank and climbed into sixth position.

TUT are equal on points with Celtic above them while the Mpumalanga-based outfit is now 10th with seven points.

University of Western Cape (UWC) proved superior as they defeated University of Johannesburg 1-0 in a clash of the Universities is Cape Town. 

UWC are closing in on the top three as they now equal 14 points with third placed First Touch Academy who were held to 1-1 stalemate by 13th place Thunderbirds Ladies.
