Chiefs Give Baxter Update

Kaizer Chiefs’ assistant coach Arthur Zwane has given an update on head coach Stuart Baxter, saying he still had to self isolate when his side beat Sekhukhune United on Sunday.

Zwane was named interim head coach on the day and saw a youthful Amakhosi beat the newly-promoted team 2-0.

10111, as he is affectionally know, was on the sidelines, along with Dillon Sheppard, while Baxter had to remain in isolation.

Zwane, though, did confirm that the technical team was in contact with the Englishman in the build-up to Sunday’s game.

“We have a technical staff, we work together and unfortunately for coach Stuart he’s recovering at home,” Zwane said when asked by iDiski Times about Baxter.

“All of us, you know, we were at home at some point in isolation. Fortunately, some of us we came back before the coach can come back.

“We’ve discussed, we’ve been preparing the team – all of us, you know, the team of technical staff members.”

It remains to be seen whether Baxter can return to the sidelines when Chiefs will face Royal AM on Sunday, 19 December.
