Exclusive: Ayer Leaves Varbergs

Promising South African talent Keanin Ayer has left Varbergs BoIS after nearly four years with the Swedish top-flight outfit.

Ayer, 21, was widely considered as one of the most promising talents at the Allsvenskan side but struggled for game time this season amid injury problems at the start of the campaign.

The central midfielder was an ever-present figure during their first season in the top-flight having broken through into the first-team set-up as a wing-back but is now set for a move away from the club.

iDiski Times understands Ayer rejected a contract extension with the club after they retained their top-flight status and recently underwent an assessment with Eliteserien side Sandefjord.

After impressing at the Norweigian outfit, they have now tabled a three-year contract offer for the Right to Dream Academy graduate.

Ayer represented Varberg 68 times, scoring three goals and registering five assists since his arrival in August 2018 from the Accra based academy.
