Stellenbosch FC have secured the signing of highly-rated forward Juan Carlos Ortíz ahead of the January transfer window.
After a strong start to the 2021/22 campaign, Stellies have dropped down to fifth-place after a seven-game winless run since their victory over Kaizer Chiefs in early November.
One of the issues plaguing the squad was their lack of goal-scorers and the signing of Ortiz is one the club will be hoping remedies those issues going into the second half of the season.
The 28-year-old was one of the best players of the Venezuelan top-flight with 24 goal contributions (16 goals and eight assists) in 32 games for Monagas SC.
The DStv Premiership club have subsequently snapped him up ahead of a host of suitors in Colombia, Peru and his home nation with a three-year deal, iDiski Times can confirm.
With only five foreign quota spots available, the club is expected to allow Tanzania midfielder Ally Msengi leave the club in the upcoming window in order to register their new signing.
