Furious Thobejane Blames Players For Sekhukhune Defeat

Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane was furious with his players after they fell to their 11th DStv Premiership defeat of the season.

Baroka were well beaten 4-0 by Sekhukhune United in the league on Sunday evening at Ellis Park Stadium, and Thobejane says it was the worst performance Bakgakga have produced.

The result leaves them at the bottom of the table, a point behind 15th placed Swallows FC, who have played one more game.

Thobejane seemed frustrated after the result and blamed players for not showing up and not taking the responsibility on the field.

“Today, even if now you can give us another 90 minutes, it shows my boys today were not in the game. They were out, out, out,” he told SuperSport TV after the match.

“First minutes we had a chance, if you miss a golden opportunity they will punish you. On the left instead of putting that hard and low cross, it goes in the air, it ends up in our goal.

“If you look at the goals of Sekhukhune today, they were all from our transition, even at second half. I told them that those guys are quick, once you lose any touch, or we are taking [too long], then they go all out, they are on us.

“We were very late, we responded very, very late, in every incident of transition, we were late to respond, Sekhukhune were always out numbering us.”

The Limpopo outfit will now prepare to face Kaizer Chiefs as they host Amakhosi at Peter Mokaba Stadium at 19:30 on Saturday.
