SuperSport United’s new all-time leading goalscorer Bradley Grobler says he is very honoured to have achieved the record, after he scored his 58th goal for the club on Wednesday.
Grobler scored the winner against Bloemfontein Celtic, his tenth goal of the season, and it was also the goal that saw him move ahead of the late Abram Raselemane, the former record holder.
The Bafana Bafana international says SuperSport have supported him throughout the years, and this is the best way he could pay the club back for everything they’ve done for him.
“Yeh, it’s an unbelievable feeling,” Grobler told the club’s media department.
“I think, you know when people mentioned the 57 goals it seemed so far away at the time, I think I was about six goals away, and now that I got it last week, equalled it, I thought to myself, you know this could be the toughest part, trying to break it and go one more.”
“But fortunately it happened today, and as I’ve said in many interviews, the club’s been very good to me over the years, they’ve done a lot for me, they’ve stuck with me through thick and thin, through the injuries and I think it’s just my way of repaying the club for the faith they’ve shown in. me.”
“It’s a great club, a very prestigious club, so very honoured to have achieved that.”
