Hollywoodbets Super League Wrap

There were only four fixtures in the Hollywoodbets Super League this past weekend, with the sides that have players on international duty with Banyana Banyana not participating.

Fixtures that were affected involved Mamelodi Sundowns, University of Western Cape, JVW Girls and Tshwane University of Technology.

The biggest result of the weekend came from Seshego stadium where Golden Ladies shocked First Touch Academy with a 3-1 victory. Gontse Homba scored in each half while her teammate Qiniso Shabangu netted the winner as the side recorded their third win of the campaign.

The result has also seen them move from the foot of the table for the very first time to 13th position with nine points from 15 games. Their Limpopo opponents remained in fifth spot with 27 points from 15 matches.

Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies condemned Tsunami Queens to the bottom of the log with their 3-1 victory at Goble Park. Celtic sit behind First Touch on the standings with 22 points from 14 games while the Queens only have seven points in 16 outings.

In Witbank, Coal City Wizards defeated MaIndies Ladies 3-0 and rose to eighth place on the log with 19 points from 15 matches, while the rookies dropped to ninth with 15 points from 16 matches.

University of Johannesburg (UJ) equalled points with MaIndies and Richmond United after their narrow 1-0 win over United. UJ occupy 10th place while United are number 11, however UJ has a game in hand.
