Platinum City Rovers’ dream start to the GladAfrica Championship continued as they picked up their third straight win since being promoted at the start of the season.

It’s been the perfect start for coach Aschwin Sutton, who joined City Rovers after their promotion, and they made it three in three when they beat Polokwane City 2-1 on Saturday. Eric Ntlaba and Thabiso Nkoana scored the goals for Rovers, while Kuda Myaba netted for City.

JDR Stars moved up the table with win 2-0 win over Tshakhuma, Malebogo Modise and Ishmael Wardi on the scoresheet, while there was a good 1-0 win on the road with TS Sporting as Ange Lebahi grabbing the winner against Black Leopards.

While Cape Town All Stars and Pretoria Callies played to a goalless draw, there were also a win for Free State Stars with Moeketsi Sekola scoring a late penalty to beat Venda Football Academy 1-0.

On Sunday, there was a goalless draw between Jomo Cosmos and Cape Town Spurs, but Uthongathi won the KZN derby against Richards Bay, winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Thato Mohlamme.

The other promoted team this season, Hungry Lions from the Northern Cape, also kept their unbeaten record despite being reduced to ten men, when they drew 1-1 with AmaTuks. Angelo Van Rooi scoring for the home team, while Singnkhi Mpedi equalised for Tuks.
