Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt, has admitted that he had a feeling he would get a Soweto derby prior to the MTN8 semi-final draw.
Talking to Velile Mnyandu in the recent edition of iDiski Times, the coach was asked about his thoughts after seeing Orlando Pirates progress in the tournament.
Mnyandu asked the coach if at that point, he started to think that he could meet Chiefs’ fierce rivals sooner than he had initially anticipated.
“Yeah, I just thought, I just had a feeling like that,” Hunt told iDiski Times.
“But you know, that’s just a feeling I just, I didn’t even watch the draw, or somebody told me. I just said oh ok, we move on…Hahahaha.”
The derby comes after a strenuous start to the season, having already had to face Mamelodi Sundowns, where Hunt’s side lost 3-0.
The coach was not intimidated by the fixtures though, adding, “Believe me I’ve had it worse…Hahahaha!
“I’ve played Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns in one week (Ed: That’s what happened in the bubble…)
“Yeah you’re quite right, it was in the bubble, that was the one incident. But ja, we can’t look too far ahead we just have to concentrate on what’s in front of us and then we will worry about the rest.”
