Kerr Ready To Help Swallows Avoid Relegation

Swallows FC newly appointed coach Dylan Kerr says he is ready to turn things around at the club despite the Dube Birds only winning one game this season so far.

Kerr was named the new coach after Brandon Truter and his entire technical team were shown the door with immediate effect after the 3-1 defeat to Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The former Baroka coach finds the team lingering in the bottom spot on the DStv Premiership table, and is expected to bring some positive results.

“My confidence levels go through the roof, I believe in what I do. I believe in the players I work with,” he told BK Matewe on Energy FM.

“That’s over the last 15 years, I have coached here, and I get results, I get performances. There’s always issues, there’s always a small problem, which makes it a big problem for me, both on and off the field.

“And talking to the Chairman and the President last night, I can see what they want, and I can see how they want to do it. And now is to maintain a consistent game of results to be more positive.

“I didn’t like Benni McCarthy’s comment when he said, we (AmaZulu) are becoming the Swallows, the draw specialists, which Swallows obviously had a bad reputation for that last season, and even this season.

“Everybody involved in football will always have an objective, my objective is to make sure that these players enjoy the football, as I have done at Black Leopards, and TTM (Tshakhuma Tsha Madivhandila).”

The Birds host Maritzburg United this afternoon at Dobsonville Stadium in the DStv Premiership clash.
