Khanye: Downs Coaches Mustn’t Dismantle Pitso’s Team
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has questioned why certain Mamelodi Sundowns players, who were pillars of Pitso Mosimane’s team, are not starting more often.
The iDiski Times analyst addressed the title race in this week’s paper column.
Khanye explained why he believes Downs allowed AmaZulu to catch up with them in the title race, citing “poor selection” and “too many games” as the main reasons.
He then went on to discuss some of the coaches’ team selection, before insisting Manqoba Mngqithi, Steve Komphela and Rulani Mokwena mustn’t take apart Mosimane’s former side.
“I believe Sundowns will win the league this season. The club has dropped points, but they have only lost once in the league,” he writes in iDiski Times.
“I don’t understand why Hlompho Kekana is not playing. The coaches must stop trying to prove a point. Hlompho has won too many trophies at Sundowns.
“Keletso Makgalwa has also helped Sundowns many times last season.
“The coaches must not dismantle Pitso’s team. Sundowns will win the league. The coaches must just do the right things.”
