Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has previewed their encounter against SuperSport United.
The Tshwane Derby takes place at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, just within 15 days after they last played.
Mngqithi says they anticipate a good game, with many goals, as they played to a 2-2 draw last game at Loftus Versveld Stadium in the previous clash.
The Downs mentor has also stated that they will not focus on negative aspects from the previous match, but build from the positivity ahead of Matsatsantsa.
“The truth of the matter is, now we are facing a new chapter where we have to focus on what is in front of us and give it a shot,” Mngqithi said ahead of Tshwane Derby.
“We never believed we deserved a draw in the previous match. And the same feeling will go into calling to this match to say, we believe and Sundowns we can win this match.
“How can we improve on what we did in the previous match because there were some areas that we needed to improve on in the last match and if we work harder in those aspects, we definitely stand a chance of doing better.
“Sundowns and SuperSport always play very interesting football, that is one thing that I always pride with the Tshwane Derby because it’s always an interesting match to watch for the spectators. And it’s usually a match that is full of goals.
“But more than anything else now that we have thrown and conceded our first two goals of this season in that match, I think everybody will be hyped up for this match, we must guard against anxiety, guard against a little of arrogance, to think that we deserved to win the previous match, so naturally we are entitled to in this match.
“There is no game that we are entitled to win,, and we must work very hard. We must roll ourselves, and know SuperSport is always going to be a hard nut to crack, but our boys understand what is expected of them.
“We will give it our best shot because there is no game that we believe we deserve to lose at Sundowns, and we believe we can always win every match we play. And even when we have not won, we always ask ourselves what could we have done better to win the match? And maybe those are the areas we have to improve on.
“Going into the Supersport match, maybe the circumstances are also favouring us now because this match we were without Rivaldo (Coetzee) because he got a booking in Stellenbosch, which gave him a chance to rest a bit coming into the next match of Super Sports, now AJ also because of the bookings is out for the next match. And we’ve got a benefit of a Riva coming back from suspension.”
