Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has pointed out his side’s finishing as a “huge problem” for his side despite lifting the Cufa Cup trophy.
Bruce Bvuma became the hero on Sunday after saving two spot-kicks in the shootout after the game against Marumo Gallants head finished goalless after 90 minutes.
After the match, Nasreddine Nabi emphasised two issues he picked up in Bloemfontein – one his side’s poor finishing and secondly a lack of winning mentality as the game almost slipped out of their hands.
“It was a very intense game, it was an excellent thing [winning a trophy], but we created a lot of chances,” he said on SABC1.
“Just like against Sundowns, we also created a lot of opportunities. This is a big, big problem [that we’re missing chances].
“I want a winning mentality. There are no friendly games. In friendly games, you need a positive attitude, a winning attitude. In exercises in training I want to win.
“If I lose, it’s problem. I don’t sleep. I want this mentality.
“We lose momentum in the game, we gave the other team the chance to gain control, this is unacceptable.
“Secondly, we play cup against SuperSport, this is a very bad repetition. Maybe the SuperSport coach was watching and if we reach penalties again I need to change takers.”
Chiefs take on Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport in next week’s Carling Knockout Round of 16 clash before facing the same opponents in the Betway Premiership.
