Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of young goalkeeper Dublin Boon from Stellenbosch FC, iDiski Times can confirm.

Boon, 21, joined the Cape Winelands-side from Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand in August last year, and was mainly used as back-up keeper for the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side.

He was understood to be included in a major swap deal which would’ve seen Boon and Faiz Abrahams join the Buccaneers and Kabelo Dlamini move the other direction – however, the deal collapsed due to Dlamini opting against the switch.

While Abrahams has since completed a move to Kaizer Chiefs, this publication can confirm that Pirates have finalised the signing of Boon.

The 21-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the club, sources told this publication.

Pirates recently lost Melusi Buthelezi, who joined Sekhukhune United, but still have Siyabonga Dladla (25) and Ethan Visagie (21) as part of their squad.
