Ncikazi Not Happy With Refereeing

Orlando Pirates co-caretaker coach Mandla Ncikazi was disappointed to not get three points against Swallows and hit out at the refereeing against his side.

Pirates started brightly in the game, scoring in the opening minutes, but Swallows found the equaliser from the penalty spot, and neither team was able to find the winner in the 1-1 draw.

Ncikazi felt his team deserved to win the game, but says they failed to implement their plans at times.

“I thought we deserved all the points,” he told the club’s media department.

“I know we played in patches, scored early in the match and subconsciously moved back, which was not the plan. But having said that, I thought we had the better of the chances.

“I know Swallows created a few good saves from our goalkeeper, that’s his job.

“But I’m just disappointed that one, we don’t become ruthless in front of goal. We miss that decision, we miss that shot, and then you end up in a stalemate like this.”

Ncikazi also was not completely happy with the officiating in the game.

“It is not the only match and what becomes even worse is that the refereeing does not assist you,” he added.

“I think in the past matches the refereeing and officiating has been very bad for Pirates, I don’t know the reasons, I’m just hoping that it improves but we can’t be subjected to such bad decisions week in, week out.”
