Sukazi Reveals Shocking Incident At Pirates Last Season

TS Galaxy Chairman Tim Sukazi has revealed there was a previous incident at Orlando Stadium which prompted them to record the latest fracas this past weekend.

Sukazi has been at the centre of a media storm over the past days after the shocking incident outside Pirates home ground on Saturday which saw him forcibly denied entrance.

While what transpired before and after the video that has since gone viral has been well documented, he revealed there was a similar case in their debut season but they let it go without reporting the matter to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

“It’s true, the exact date was January 26, 2021, on a Tuesday. It was a historical game, the first-ever game TS Galaxy played at Orlando Stadium as a Premier Division club in an official match,” he told Safja on Tuesday.

“A similar type of situation happened. However, during the time, the fracas didn’t occur outside. I was inside, through the glass door. The same situation happened, I was nice and early like I said. I had to inspect the pitch.

“There was pushing and shoving. Fortunately for us, we managed to overpower the Orlando Pirates security. I made my way through to inspect the pitch as per normal and then I sat in the dugout with [Owen] da Gama, we had our own discussion about the game and then I went to the change room and so forth.”

The former agent went on to reveal that it was caught on camera as the incident happened during the pre-match build-up of the fixture and questioned why it was never made public.

“It did [happen] and it was captured in the DStv camera. That is the Premier Division sponsors, the title sponsors of the league have that footage,” the Rockets chairman explained.

“I know for a fact because that camera that is straight with the centre line, that guy captured it. But it was never shown to the public or dealt with or submitted to the league as an issue of concern.

“By DStv, why? I don’t know. You guys can check who was the floor manager on the day and ask what happened to the footage, it’s there, whether it’s destroyed or not I don’t know but it was there, it was seen on camera.

“Even people who were journalists on the day, they saw. I mean it was captured on camera, but nothing happened with that situation. Fortunately, this time around, when it started people were smart enough to say, let’s capture this thing so people can see what we’re subjected to here.”
